Who is Eligible?

Summer Camp: August 11-17, 2024

Youth from 8 years of age to 18 who are impacted by foster care and/or adoption and who have experienced sibling separation at some point. We encourage all siblings of the family to attend together. Registration is completed online and all forms must be electronically signed by the child’s legal guardian.

If you know a sibling group, between the ages of 8 to 18, who would like to attend, you may begin the registration process below.

A separate application must be completed for each child in the sibling group.

Camper Criteria

The following list of criteria should be used as a guideline when considering youth to be referred to Rooted Kinections.

  • Does not display any physical aggression toward animals

  • Does not experience severe sleep disorders, such as a chronic inability to sleep throughout the night, requiring awake overnight supervision

  • Does not display excessive behaviors that would greatly disrupt the focus of camp

  • Absolutely no concerns of sexual activity between siblings and/or concerns of sexual perpetration behaviors toward other campers.

  • Is not actively homicidal or suicidal in behavior or communications

  • Does not display behavior that requires restraint or ongoing 1:1 support or supervision.

Additional Information

The ratio of campers to counselors is 2:1. Although we provide constant supervision for our campers, we are not able to provide ongoing 1:1 supervision or support to any camper needing constant supervision on an individual basis. For this reason, campers requiring this type of supervision may not be appropriate for this camp setting.
